Personalized Functional Medicine, bodywork & education designed to help you uncover the root cause and restore lasting health
At Higher Healing, I believe our health touches everything. When we do not feel well, it affects our relationships, our energy, our work, our sense of purpose, and how fully we are able to show up for our lives.
Through my own health journey, I have come to believe that healing is not something another person simply gives us. It is a response to living in harmony. There is an intelligence within the body that is always working, communicating, and adapting.
My role is not to "heal" someone else. I see myself as a guide, educator, and translator—helping people better understand what their body may be trying to communicate and how the different pieces of their health connect.
I do not see symptoms as random. Fatigue, digestive changes, anxiety, pain, inflammation, hormonal shifts, and other concerns are often part of the body's language. They are not always the root problem, but they can offer clues about where the body may need more support.
I don't believe the body works in silos. Every symptom, lab value, life experience, relationship, and environment tells part of the story. My role is to help translate the language of the body—recognizing patterns, connecting the dots, and helping make sense of what can otherwise feel overwhelming or disconnected.
Health isn't just about collecting more information. It's about understanding how the pieces fit together.
To do that well, I believe I have a responsibility to remain a lifelong student. I continue to immerse myself in current research, learn from my own clinical experience as well as other clinicians and mentors, explore both modern science and traditional healing systems, and stay curious through my own personal health journey.
Every patient, teacher, and experience has expanded the way I see the body and strengthened my ability to recognize patterns. That perspective allows me to meet each person with curiosity and create a plan that reflects their unique story, rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
The mission of Higher Healing is to help people slow down, become more aware of their bodies, and reconnect with the wisdom that already exists within them. Sometimes that means looking at nutrition, sleep, our emotional landscape, hormones, gut health, movement, stress, the nervous system, environmental exposures, and our belief systems.
I also believe that many of the foundations of health are simpler than we have made them: nourishing food, time outside, meaningful relationships, movement, sunlight, quality sleep, nervous system regulation, and creating space for rest and recovery. While modern medicine has given us incredible tools, I believe we are healthiest when we also remember the timeless foundations that have supported human health for generations.
Ancient healing traditions remind us that we are not separate from nature—we are part of it. They remind us that health is not simply the absence of disease, but the result of living in relationship with ourselves, each other, and the world around us.

My path into healthcare has been shaped by both professional experience and my own personal health journey.
I began my career as a Certified Nursing Assistant before becoming a Registered Nurse and later an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Working in conventional medicine gave me the privilege of caring for patients through some of the most critical moments of their lives, particularly in cardiac and acute care settings. It taught me to think critically, appreciate the value of evidence-based medicine, and recognize when lifesaving interventions are essential.
At the same time, my own health challenges led me to ask bigger questions. I became increasingly interested in understanding not only what disease looks like, but why it develops in the first place and what influences our ability to heal.
That curiosity led me to Functional Medicine, where I founded Higher Healing to create a practice that blends the strengths of conventional medicine with a more personalized, root-cause approach.
Today, my work is informed by years of clinical experience, thousands of patient interactions, ongoing mentorship, and a deep commitment to lifelong learning. I regularly participate in advanced trainings, clinical webinars, case reviews, and continuing education with physicians, nurse practitioners, nutritionists, researchers, and educators from a variety of disciplines. I believe some of the greatest learning happens through collaboration and by remaining open to perspectives that challenge and expand my understanding.
While my clinical foundation is rooted in nursing and Functional Medicine, I also study and integrate insights from Traditional Chinese Medicine, nervous system regulation, manual therapies, biophysics, environmental medicine, nutrition, and other healing traditions when supported by both clinical experience and scientific understanding. I value these perspectives because they encourage us to look at the body as an interconnected system rather than a collection of isolated parts.
In addition to Functional Medicine, I have completed training in auricular acupuncture and continue my education in bodywork approaches such as Polarity Therapy and Craniosacral Therapy. These hands-on modalities complement my practice by supporting nervous system regulation, body awareness, and the body's natural capacity for healing.
I also believe healthcare is a team effort. I frequently collaborate with physicians, chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, mental health professionals, physical therapists, and other practitioners because no one discipline has all the answers. My goal is to help connect the dots, coordinate care when appropriate, and ensure each person feels seen, heard, and supported.
More than any certification or title, I believe my greatest strength is curiosity. I never want to stop learning. Every patient, every mentor, every book, every course, and every conversation continues to shape the way I think and deepens my understanding of the incredible complexity of the human body.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to health, and there is no one-size-fits-all way to work together. Whether you're looking for comprehensive medical care, a focused consultation, hands-on bodywork, or education for your organization, my goal is always the same: to help make health more understandable and empower you with practical tools that support long-term well-being.
For those seeking a comprehensive, root-cause approach, I offer personalized Functional Medicine care. This begins with an in-depth evaluation of your health history, current concerns, lifestyle, goals, and the patterns that may be contributing to your symptoms.
Depending on your needs, I may recommend advanced functional testing—including blood work, hormone testing, stool and gut testing, food sensitivity testing, and other specialty assessments—to help build a personalized plan. Recommendations may include nutrition, lifestyle modifications, targeted supplementation, nervous system regulation, movement, stress management, and other evidence-informed strategies designed to support your body's natural ability to heal.
Not everyone needs or wants comprehensive medical care. Sometimes you simply want to better understand a diagnosis, review laboratory results, discuss a specific health concern, or gain clarity on the next steps.
These consultations are educational in nature and provide an opportunity to ask questions, review testing, explore different perspectives, and leave with a clearer understanding of your health.
I also offer hands-on sessions designed to support nervous system regulation, relaxation, and overall well-being.
Depending on your goals, sessions may incorporate techniques and approaches informed by Craniosacral Therapy, Polarity Therapy, auricular (ear) acupuncture, and other gentle manual therapies. These sessions are intended to complement—not replace—your medical care and are individualized based on your needs and comfort level.
I work with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals who are looking for education, guidance, and collaborative problem-solving.
Whether you're hoping to optimize your health, navigate a complex case, better understand functional testing, or simply have a knowledgeable sounding board, these sessions provide personalized education and practical next steps tailored to your goals.
Education is one of my greatest passions.
I provide presentations, workshops, and educational programs for businesses, healthcare organizations, schools, universities, and community groups. Previous speaking engagements have included organizations such as National Grid, Salve Regina University, and the University of Rhode Island.
Topics may include:
If you're looking for a topic not listed here, I'm always happy to create a presentation tailored to your audience.
I also enjoy collaborating with fellow healthcare professionals. Whether you're interested in discussing complex cases, learning how I interpret functional testing, exploring an integrative approach to patient care, or inviting me to educate your team, I welcome opportunities to learn alongside other clinicians and contribute to interdisciplinary care.
No matter how we work together, my goal is to meet you where you are—with curiosity, compassion, and a commitment to helping you better understand your body. I believe that education creates confidence, and confident people make empowered decisions about their health.

There’s an old saying:
"First the healer suffers, then they create the medicine."
That has been true in my own life.
On paper, I was doing everything right. I became a nurse, eventually a Nurse Practitioner, and spent years caring for patients in hospitals and critical care. I loved medicine, but I also began experiencing something I couldn't explain.
I looked healthy on the outside, but I didn't feel well in my own body.
Despite eating well and doing everything I had been taught, I struggled with chronic fatigue and never quite felt like myself. My lab work was considered "normal," and I was told I was healthy. Yet I knew deep down something wasn't right.
That search for answers led me to Functional Medicine.
For the first time, I began looking beneath the surface. Advanced testing uncovered chronic viral reactivation, gut dysfunction, nutrient deficiencies, environmental toxin exposure, and a nervous system that had been living in survival mode for years. More importantly, it showed me that my symptoms weren't random—they were connected.
Not long after, a neck injury while working as a nurse became another turning point. I was presented with treatments that focused on managing the pain, but I found myself asking a much bigger question:
Why did my body get here in the first place?
That question changed everything.
I immersed myself in nutrition, Functional Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, nervous system regulation, yoga, breath-work, acupuncture, bodywork, Polarity Therapy, Cranio-sacral Therapy, and the incredible ways our bodies communicate through symptoms.
As I healed, I realized something profound:
Healing isn't something someone else gives us.
It is something our bodies are designed to do when we remove obstacles, restore balance, and create the right environment.
That understanding completely transformed not only my own health but also how I care for patients.
Many of the recommendations I make today are things I've walked through myself. I've done the elimination diets, experimented with nutrition, countless supplements, explored advanced testing, practiced the breath-work, learned the bodywork, and experienced the trial and error that healing often requires. That doesn't mean my journey is the same as yours—but it allows me to meet my patients with empathy, perspective, and a deep appreciation for how challenging and rewarding the healing process can be. Looking back, I truly believe my own journey was divinely orchestrated, not only for my healing, but so I could better understand, support, and advocate for the people I now have the privilege of caring for.
Throughout my career, I've stood at both ends of medicine.
I've worked in intensive care, performed CPR, watched families say goodbye, and cared for people during some of the hardest moments of their lives.
Today, I have the privilege of working further upstream—helping people understand their bodies before disease progresses, before burnout becomes their normal, and before they lose hope that they can feel well again.
Higher Healing is the culmination of everything I've learned.
It combines the science of conventional medicine with the curiosity of Functional Medicine, the wisdom of ancient healing traditions, and a deep respect for the body's innate ability to heal.
Whether we're reviewing advanced lab work, regulating the nervous system, using bodywork to release stored tension, or creating sustainable lifestyle changes, my goal is always the same:
To help you reconnect with your body, understand what it's been trying to tell you, and create a path toward lasting health.
I don't believe healing is about chasing perfection.
I believe it's about coming home to yourself.
And when we help one person heal, that healing extends beyond the individual. It ripples into families, communities, and future generations.
I'm grateful you're here, and I'd be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.
